    1520/1420 battery

    Does anyone know if the battery for the Inspiron 1520 work in the 1420?

    No, the battery will not work. you will get a message that the battery is not recognized before booting to windows. Ins 1520's batteries are only compatible with the Ins 1521, 1720, 1721, and vostro 1500 and 1700.

    Likewise, the 1420's battery will only be compatible with the vostro 1400.
