I just got a refurbished 1501 and twice the computer has frozen up and the screen has displayed a colors in a jumble if you know what I mean.
Should I send it back, I assume this is not normal.
Also, I need this laptop to work, will they send me one in advance so I can keep this one and I will send it back at that time?
Any other info you could provide on the return of a machine would be helpful.

I have done a search, but I guess nobody has had this problem. I guess I will just try and get it replaced.

No it shouldnt do that, are you running a factory install? A format and a fresh install of windows(not a restore) can usually get rid of strange out of the box errors, as well as give you a much more nimble system overall, if you do need to exchange it, yes dell will ship the new one first, then you return the original, and like most places, they will put a hold on your card for the amount of the replacement, if they dont recieve it, you will be charged, it shouldnt be a problem. I went through an exchange a month ago and it was quick and painless. Good luck
