Recently, and all of a sudden, it's been telling me that my AC adaptor isn't recognisable. And that the computer will still run off AC power, but won't charge. Did any one have this problem, and does anyone know how to fix it? Thanks for your help.

That happened to me once recently, but it seemed to correct itself. Later while checking the various BIOS updates on the Dell site (that I haven't flashed) it was mentioned in one of them.
