    15.4' or 17" Inspiron

    I'm getting my first Laptop and I was wondering which screen size to go with. I was thinking a 15.4" with 1680x1050 resolution or a 17" with 1440x900(Both about same price). Would it be better to have a higher resolution with on a smaller screen or a bigger screen with less? Is there a big difference in battery life?, Heat? I was also wondering if the base video card is any good, is it worth the $100 to get the 128MB NVIDIA card? Thanks for any input and suggestions.

    definitely upgrade the video card, will hold up for at least a couple of years(hopefully) if you game... the screen depends what you would like.. i got 1440*900 on the 1720... cause the 1920*1200 was a bit expensive... theres not much heat unless you are gaming according to my experience.. web browsing, playing music, watching movies doesn't heat the c2d at all...got the 6 cell and gives me 2 hours on high performance

    Agree with Choy. Upgraed the base card if you plan on doing anything beyond web surfing and office work.
