    I am considering this low resolution because I like the larger appearance of text and images while browsing the web and editing. Does anyone have experience with this on Dell notebooks? What is the verdict? Particularly the e1505 and WXGA (1280x800).

    Thanks.

    ::bump::

    Any suggestions? Should I avoid this configuration?

    I suggest taking a trip to a local store and seeing a 15.4" in person. All display models are WXGA in Best Buy and other retail stores.

    Please don't ask simple questions such as this; no offense, but they can be easily answered by looking for reviews of the E1505.

    WXGA is the best resolution for casual usage in my opinion. I went from 1440x900 to 1280x800 but i don't miss the higher resolution.

    I agree with Chaz, go to Bestbuy or Circuit City. But remember all those screens will be glossy and the WXGA won't. The Dell Kiosk near you might not fit the bill unless you want to make sure the Higher Rez won't suit you. Normally WSXGA+ TruBrite is on the display model.

    My WXGA is the Truelife "glossy" screen, but I bought mine up here in Canada, eh.

    Thanks. I figured as such. Most of my work on the computer involves working with photos, browsing others and editing and posting my own to my website. I am worried that a high resolution will make all the photos too small. On the other hand, I'm supposedly also increases the picture quality? Whats the verdict from photographers?

    If you are going to be photo editing, you're better off getting the higher resolution screen. It allows you to see much more of the image and in greater detail. I'm not sure how big the pictures you are working with are, but a higher resolution will be an advantage with multi-megapixel images.

    well I'm about to get a Dell M65, thats a 15.4" Screen with a res of 1920x1200 :) so that'll be sick, tiny fonts but apparently dell has a thing built in to increase font size so I can deal with it
