I live in Ontario/Quebec and I bought an M1330. I've had some issues with it so far, my speakers crackling, whiney cpu, uneven base and wlan card dropping connection so I'm debating returning it.

My 30 days with the laptop are still not up, I'm still waiting for a replacement before I make my final decision (apparently I get another 30 days with the new laptop), however I'm wondering what Dell's return policy is? On their website it said something about 15% restocking charge? Can anyone confirm or deny this, who has returned things?

i was told by a few US Dell reps that the 15% would be charged on items that were past 21 days from shipment regardless of opened or unopened item. since you are in Canada, i dont know if it would still be 21 or 30 days. best thing would be to call.

people have returned and had replacement without any restocking fee, i wouldnt be suprised if the 15% was either a scare tatic or for certain models that are returned outside of the set period and has no fault.

I just returned my 1420, they did not state anything about having to pay a 15% restocking fee, but the return was a result of their error. We will see when I get the credit on my card if it is for the full amount. (3-4 weeks HA!)

very unlikekly, you ordered that spec and you got it, afterall RAM is where Dell make its money. Only option would be return the laptop if your in the time period and reorder. You could try getting money back more likely be money to shut you up than an actually refund.

i seriously doubt it... that way I could probably return both 2Gb sticks and get.. . about $200 back? (or even more, if you go by Dell's pricing) I would send in the hard drive as well.. for another $100-$150 or so? And then I'd get all that on eBay for less than $200 total, bringing down this laptop's price to under $500 :) I wish... :)
