I added an external intellimouse to my 1405 to using when it is docked. It works fine, but I cannot access the mouse functions - scroll lines, etc. When I try to install the intellipoint software, it says that I have to uninstall the touchpad software. How can I add the intellipoint software without removing the touchpad software? Is it possible? Thanks.

The Intellipoint software will put its own functions and preferences on your computer and it might conflict with the touchpad's, so that is why you need to remove the touchpad software.
I didn't have this problem installing the Intellipoint software on my laptop, but then again, I have an Elantech touchpad and the software is a bit different.

With mine, I didn't have to uninstall the touchpad driver, but when I installed the mouse driver, it override my touchpad driver. Then my touchpad wouldn't work right unless it has it own driver - needless to say it was a mess.

I honestly don't know how to fix this. I tried uninstalling my touch pad driver, installing the mouse driver, and then reinstalling the touchpad driver. I don't remember if that worked or not. I think I gave up and just decided that I didn't need the extra features of the mouse.
