1440 x 900 Screen res UK or other.

Hey guys

Can people who bought the wxga+ screen with 1440 x 900 let me know if you have had any problems.

There seems to a lot of posts about the 1050 but was curious as me and a few other people on here have bypassed the 1050 because of the problems.

I bought the 1440 trying to avoid the Samsung 1680 and they shipped a Samsung 1440.

Today, the tech replaced the Samsung with an LG 1440 and I am happy!

I have now had 4 Samsung panels and all of them were inferior--both the 1680 and 1440 resolutions.

 

I have the exact computer you do...with the samsung screen(sec3157)

I think the screen is "ok" except for white backrounds which appear very grainy. I browse quite a few message boards with white backrounds and noticed I'm getting more headaches on this vostro. I'm not thrilled about the colors either, it seems a little washed out compared to my E1505 but I'm still trying to tweak it. Wow...after writing that it seems like a no brainer to have this changed


What kind of problems did your samsung have?

Do you think the LG would fix the issues I'm having?

UK M1530 Owner

I purchased a M1530 with the 1440 x 900 screen and ended up with an AU Optronics one which was Grainy.

Got them to replace the screen with a LG one and it's 'Perfect' , brighter and a lot better viewing angles.

You need an option in the Poll for those that:
Had Grainy screen but successfully managed to get Dell to swap the screen out for a troublefree LG one.

 

Can people put were they live.

Just wondering if this is world wide or just a regional thing

I cant belive this problem is happening to all screens.

this has been going on since the 1530 has been released, surley dell must realise that between delivery cost of picking the machine up, tech cost for coming to your house and there time and trouble.

They surley must realise that wait a minute this is costing us.

Oh well the wonderful world of dell.

I got the LG screen - made sure it was shipping with the LG on the original order or I would have canceled.

 

How did you make sure? Can't you not tell till you get the service tag, ie after has shipped?

I was hoping for more that 11 people to comment on the 1440x900 screen. Looks like everyone got shafted on the 1050 display.

Fingers crossed we got some good screens coming, if not will return and buy the next on my list Sony FZ38M.

I will not be sending my 800.00 laptop off or being played with 100 times just to have a crap screen again, Have not got the time or patience.

This was ordered Mid Feb.

 

well mine is coming Monday.

Quick time, ordered it tuesday, so not even 5 working days.

I ordered the 1440 screen in January , and I think its great. No hint of grainryness just hints of spittle aftter screaming at games I have been playing.
I have no idea if it is a samsung or LG , anyone knowm how to check

hey im up and running, but cannot find what monitor mine is, went into device driver, and monitor, and it just says generic pnp?

also how can i tell if my wireless is secure?

Screen is great, really impressed, didn't bother looking at the manufacturer as it looks fantastic.
