So I was arguing with my co-workers who had a better computer. My windows experience index is at a 3.8 which is higher than all of their computers but one who has a 3.9 . So to make some people mad I decided to have a little fun and edit a file to make my WEI all read 9.9.

Go to your C: Drive -> Windows -> Performance -> Winsat -> DataStore

Right click on the newest file there and choose edit. This will open the file in wordpad so you can make changes to it. There are fields listed as the following in the encoded jumble ( <score> # </score> )...

    SystemScore
    MemoryScore
    CPUScore
    CPUSubAggScore
    VideoEncodeScore
    GraphicsScore
    GamingScore
    DiskScore

Just replace the numbers between the scores to 9.9 and click save when done. Now when you go check your WEI it will read all 9.9 for everything. I really had the guys here going after I told them I tweaked Vista and my system for max performance and look at what it did! Haha, anyways just a little fun to have. If you run your WEI again to try to get your real score it will still show up as 9.9, you will have to go back to the DataStore folder and delete your old entries then re-run WEI to get your true score. Have fun :D

I would like to take this time and welcome you to 2008. With enough perseverance and hard work, you should be able to make up for the 1 year and 6 months that you're behind.

And the point of this being?

And I'm sure you do realize WEI has a max score of 5.9, and it's pretty much a useless MS tool and only suckers use it to benchmark their system.

Yes, but for every sucker, there's a suckier sucker who'll finally shut up about their "awesome" new computer once you show them that you machine is "better".
