    i want to get the 1420 but it doesn't seem to be available in dell uk. does anyone know if its going to be released here?

    You can get a business oriented Vostro 1400 in the UK. Which is essentially an all black Inspiron 1420 without the snazzy lid options. I don't know how keen you were on a particular colour beyond the basic black for the Inspirons lid but beyond the colour scheming they are infact one and the same unit.

    At the moment you have no other options I'm afraid.
