I have a 1420 build date of 6/2008 and I just started to get some artifacting during Halo today.

    I have the Nvidia card

I wasn't overclocking or anything and it just started artifacting on me.

Does this mean my grpahics card is on the way south?

That is definitely not a good sign. How are the vents? Do you monitor your temps at all? Is the fan running like crazy?

I would be concerned . . . you are going to need a new mobo unless we can determine that this was an unusual event. Have you tried reinstalling the latest dell provided driver?

I'm running the Dell Drivers right now. Never bothered playing around with different ones on this machine.

I had I8Kfangui running on high speed too. Temps weren't above 130 on the CPU

The dell graphic drivers suck, please upgrade your drivers. I think it is a drivers issue.

Then let us know if it helped. Also, if you have not updated your Bios on the mainboard to A09 - you should. A10 is out at the moment . . . would include the basic fixes that came with A09. FYI, that means that the fan kicks on sooner to try to keep the GPU 'cool' (man they let it run hot).

The drivers from laptopvideo2go didn't help with this. Looks like I might be giving Dell a call soon.
