    Just curious....

ON the Dell Inspiron 1420, are there better viewing angles on the glossy or the matte screens?

...meaning that, if several people wanted to watch a DVD, will there be a better viewing experience on the glossy or the matte screens?

I gues this is a general question so you could base your answers on experience with a screen on any brand of notebook.

    Thanks

I have a 1420 but I think the question is more relative to the screen coating then anything else. My vote would go for matte, simply so you don't have any light reflections from angles that may not affect you but may affect people to your sides. Plus you won't have the problem of staring uncomfortably at other people when a scene in the movie is particularly dark. :)

yes but, don't matte screens darken when you view them from the sides?
