Is it possible to use a VGA to component adapter to get component output from this card?

    Thanks...

when I ordered mine there was an option for a free adapter. Either s-video (should be really mini din) to component video/spdif or composite/spdif.
The option for free adapter only showed up on one PC at work. I wasn't able to get the same option shown on there PCs (I've tried uninstalling flash support and other applications, with no luch).

This adapter is really nice and video driver is great. It's very easy to adjust over/underscan, no reason to play with powestrip settings anymore.

    Thanks for the heads up...

I see two on this page http://search.dell.com/results.aspx?s=dhs&c=us&l=en&cs=19&k=component+adapter+svideo&cat=all , one for XPS only and the other for "select" systems... think the cheaper XPS one will work on the Vostro?

The one I find on ebay or monoprice doesn't seem to have SPDIF out which would be nice...

NM I see in reviews it works on the 1520 so I think the XPS one is a go... a little more from Dell but I would think worth it for the SPDIF.

Yeah when I ordered my system there were some free options I couldn't reliably get... one was free next day onsite service... which really pissed me off that I missed.

You can also use a VGA to component cable.

Yeah you can do that too but with the DELL's cable you can get the SPDIF output as well if you need Digital Audio ;)
