    Hi,

This grainyness has me confused. I am order the 1400 with the 1440x900 (WGXA+?) glossy screen...what are the chances mine will be grainy? How can i identify if it is?

Thanks I had seen those before, I didn't understand them. In essence, graininess = grey whites?

I would say faint patterns overlaid over the whites (and light colors).

It looks like your screen is really dusty, like you haven't cleaned it in a few months.

I just received my 1400 with 1440x800 TL screen and I think it's fine. Whites are white and although the viewing angles aren't spectacular, I do not intend on looking at the screen from a 23° angle for the next few years.

Stella, I noticed you went with the G1s. I recently saw a pair of G1s, one with a SEC screen and one with CMO. The SEC was not just grainy, it was awful. The CMO left me speechless. How are you going about guaranteeing yourself you will get what you want having already been through that nonsense with Dell?
