    hey,
being overally satisfied with my 1400 I still hate a fan issue. :( Yes I know dedicated graphics, but still ... temperatures under the 35 celsius (95F) and fan runnning CONSTANTLY? i just cannt believe it.
    so my question stands...
is it normal? if not, what to do... call Dell to fix it (do you have personal experience?)
or try to use some software, if so what software is fine and what temperatures to set? is it safe? what about the guarantee.

i am not sure if my fan was running so much since I bought mine but i would say no.gues it started after downgrading to XP (sometimes ubuntu).
thx for all your answers and sorry for my english.

My CPUs generally gets like 20-30 C when not doing anything intensive. GPU is like 40 right now after being on for a few hours, no gaming.

Maybe it's overheating? My computer shut down like in the middle of playing games so they had to fix the fan since it wasn't working right or whatever, and it ended up frying my motherboard. So they replace the mobo and the problem persisted.

Problem? It was the fan :(

    Ubuntu heat management is dismal.

My fan is almost always on while running ubuntu, however, on XP its always cool.

Temperatures also depend on the climate you're in too...

do you have all the proper drivers installed?

I can imagine if you're using an incorrect or old driver that you could run into problems.

Also is your BIOS up to date?
