So I am going through my replacement 1400 (to replace one with a bad sound chip and a few other issues) and to add to the grainy AUO screen I find that the chipset idles around 75C!!

This means the laptops is always hot on the bottom and the fan constantly runs around 3000rpma

I installed the chipset drivers and nothing shows in device manager as missing drivers, before I mark this down as an official defect is there anything anyone can think of that would cause this on my end?

Nope, that sounds like a hardware fault. Most probably a faulty heat sink installation.
