Didn't really know a good title for this question but am hoping someone has some idea why this occurred.

Have a 3-week-old 1330 with Vista Home Premium SP1 and the new Dell bios. Been working just fine. I have it set up, power plan wise, that I just shut the lid and it goes to sleep. In the morning, I open the lid, press the power button, and it resumes Windows.

This morning, the lid was still shut; hadn't touched it yet since I was on my desktop. I then heard hard drive activity and the light went on on the laptop. I opened the lid but the screen was blank although there were some lit buttons on the bar (I don't remember now which ones they were, one of them might have been the power button). But I had nothing onscreen and when I pressed the power button, nothing happened. Had to hold it down to force a total shutdown. Booted up again and everything is fine.

    Any ideas what happened?
