Ok so far I am happy with my 1330....I bought it cheap and already swapped in a motherboard with an Nvidia chip on it. Preformance is good and it is small and weights 4 pounds...

SO I am having 2 issues..first I have a hard drive based Video Recorder and when I plug it in I get this message telling me I would be better served if I swapped to a USB 2.0 connecting....and transfering files is painfully slow....so I don't think my USB ports are running at there full speed. What can I do to check? Also looking on Dells support site I dont see a link to any USB drivers?

The second issue is the wireless card. I just went on a cruise and before that did some traveling.....I also connect at home and a friends house quite a bit. Where my old Dell (9300) would get a connection the new one will not even see the network. For instance....at my friends house I couldsit on the couch and boot the laptop and get a connection...no worries....now I have to actually walk back close to the room where the router is...then it will see it and connect....at that time I can go back to the couch and it will stay connected. It actually says that it has a good connection while on the couch....in the samespot that it could not even see a connection before....

Besides that I am happy with the laptop...can anyone provide an insite to the issues?

    Thanks!!

You need to install the "Chipset" drivers for your USB ports.

Check and make sure your antenna wires are connected properly to the wireless card.

Wouldnt it have been cheaper to get the 8400gs option?

As for the wireless I have had nothing but issues with intel wifi cards. Other then check the install of the card it might be a defective one( granted if the correct install and drivers are present).
