It's quite weird because I am not able to use that version for my M1210.

It gives a weird error during installation. Do you guys know how to run that particular version without having the installation end at the very beginning?

Make sure you have the modded INF in your extract. I was planning on updating my stock Dell driver to 101.70. If I'm more of a DVD / multimedia guy (not so much a gamer) will I get much of a bump using 158.16 over 101.70?

Alright, I'll try them when I get home!

    Vista32 compatable, right?

And for Vista, I only see .18, not .16...and that forum is riddled with install issues. Will it actually work?

I've installed 158.18 and still got 2.0 score under desktop performance for Windows Aero and 3.3 for 3D gaming. No improvement over the previous Dell driver.

I used the dell drivers and got a score of 2 for desktop graphics too.

I uninstalled, then used the microsoft driver (i thini) got score if 3.3.....few days later windows update reported driver update for nvidia go, installed it and got score of 3.4 lol....nice improvement. not.

2.0 is too low for Aero, something seems wrong here. My M1210 with 7400 scores 3.7 in this area. 3D gaming is the same as yours at 3.3, which is down from 3.4 when I used the 101.xx driver.

Same here. The original Microsoft driver scored 3.3 for games and 3.7 for Aero, but had no option for external monitor.
Any other driver I've tried lowered it to 2.0 and 3.3 but added the external monitor option which is important to me.
    I wonder...

    Hi everyone

I really need a lot of help here..

tried installing the new drivers and got a BSOD which said this:

    "0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0xBF9D619C, 0xBA8026D4, 0x00000000)
    nv4_disp.dll - Address BF9D619C base at BF9D5000, Datestamp 4616c02e"

However, the driver seems to be updated still. The installation was no where near end though:

The driver version is the one I was trying to install..

Thanks shogun8 for the fast response.

I'm not able to rollback driver. It seems to be working fine but I see no difference at all as compared to the old driver (which I got from Dell's website). I'm confused. :(

I have searched many other forums and I seem to be the only person using 1210 with 7400 getting a BSOD.

One more thing, I am using Windows XP 32bit. Is that the right driver for it?? Is there any other driver that I can use besides the Dell stock driver? Please help.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Thanks.

I did uninstall the drivers. I'm currently using 94.22. If someone has had the same problems with me or any compatability issues with the latest version(s), try using this one. It's a very good upgrade over the Dell stock driver.
