Forgive me if this has been posted before but I had a hard time finding it when searching.

    This is for the 1420.

I was wondering if the 1.5ghz core 2 duo is enough to run vista premium and still have good performance (how much better than a pentium 4?) Is there that much diff. between a 1.5 and 1.66 T5450?

Also, would it be better to get a faster processor or 128MB Video card for future technology, I don't play any games.

    Thanks,
    Joe

The 1.5GHz will be more than enough to run Vista Premium. The 1.66GHz won't be much faster.

There's no reason to get the discrete video card if you're not gaming. The x3100 will be able to run Aero perfectly. I'd go for the faster CPU in that case.

I can think of a reason to get the upgraded video card Chuck and I am not a gamer .

Being a storm chaser I need the upgraded card for weather programs like GR level 3

True - there are things like 3D modeling that would also benefit from it, as well as HD content.

I was a little quick to dismiss them.
