After 12 days finally got my XPS 1330 back from the repair depot. Needless to say the fingerprint reader was still broken. Looks like dell is going to replace it at this point. Normally I'm pretty calm on these issues but the fact that its had 2 techs and a repair depot try to fix it with no avail, I've given up with the whole repair process. They did say it will take about a month to build a new one which sucks but at least I can use the old one for the time being.

On a side note the depot sent my laptop back and the padding around it didn't fit there was a good 5 inches on each side and my laptop was rolling and bumping around when I got it.

should've ordered replacement after the first tech failed to fix the thing... I mean, it's new and they are not experienced with it, so you were just a guinea pig for them.. That's why I refused any attempts to send out techs to my house to fix mine, and insisted on a complete replacement. Oh well, at least you'll be getting one now as well :)

+1 to Dell for taking the easy way out and just replacing it (in the end, good for you).

-5 for Dell techs and repair depot for not knowing WTF to do. :)

That's like. I got 100% because I got the first question right, but skipped the rest of the test. w00t!
