This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     i recently bought an inspiron 1720 pre-loaded w/ Vista premium (yes, i decided to go w/ vista...*sigh*...). it shipped with recovery discs for the os and pre-loaded software. Question: is there any way to get it to dual-boot with a copy of XP pro i have, or would that not work? i realize i'll probably lose all my data (wait...what data...), but that's fine since i don't have anything on it yet.

    any help/advice/ HELPFUL criticism would be recommended! thanks!
