    (2017) DELL Inspiron 7570 gtx 940mx temp limit to 70c? Can this be fixed?

    I just took delivery on DELL's new Inspiron 7570 featuring the Kaby Lake R i5 8250u 4c8t CPU. The 940mx is vBIOS limited to 70c. This is extremely limiting and I find it a bit too restrictive considering how quiet the machine is. I can get 60 fps at 1080p in Overwatch at X settings till it hits 70c, then throttles down dropping the FPS into the 30's for about 30-45 seconds, rinse and repeat.

    I've tried NV Inspector but the adjustments do not apply.

    Please advise.

    940 MX isn't that powerful, under extreme load it performs very poorly sometimes iGPU pulls ahead just by a whisker. Standard vBIOS are too limited.
