I found this coupon for the XPS 1530.
    Go to http://configure.us.dell.com/dellst...hs&kc=&oc=dycwhn3&dgc=CJ&cid=24471&lid=610453

    For $1,399 you get...
    - 3GB Ram
    - 250GB HD
    - 2.2Ghz processor
    - GeForce 8600M GT 256MB
    - Bluetooth, HD Sound Blaster, Intel Wireless-N mini-card
    - 3Yr In-Home Service, Parts Labor, 24x7 Phone Support

Pretty damn good deal I thought. Expires January 31st, doesn't work with any other promos or deals.

dang that's a juicy deal. Wish we got those kinds of deals in Canada. That exact same system on dell.ca comes to $1758. Talk about a rip off and the dollar is almost on par. Ours is worth more but only slightly.

+1 But make sure you do it now, because DELL has full right and authority to pull that discount down at any time!

I was already to buy the 1720 w/basically the same configurations as the XPS 1530 when I read this post and the deal...the costs are the same for either computer (with the discounts). Are there other differences I'm missing - aside from the size, weight...why is the xps 1530 starting price so much higher? Any advice would be great. Thanks,
    M

XPS looks much better, which for me is important because just like you wouldn't want an ugly car, i don't want an ugly laptop. if they are configured the same for the same price, i would definately go with the XPS as it looks much better and from what ive read is better quality than the 1720

Usually Dell coupons have a quota e.g 3000 people, thus if your number 3001 to use it you won't get the deal.

So I'd be quick and order now if I were you to talk advantage of the offer.

    Hope this helps.

This has been around for about a week, it's pretty much the only way to buy a 1530 or 1330 unless you get a very barebones model. Lots of threads on this one.
