Went to look at the XPS M1530 at US Dell again this morning and now the $669 deal is a $594 deal:
Save $594 on select XPS M1530 notebooks (Offer valid on M1530 order code DYCWHN3) Expires Thursday, January 31, 2008
The default processor is now Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7250 (2MB cache/2.0GHz/800Mhz FSB) and also includes Adobe Premiere and Elements software.
-
the specs anf final price are the sme so they probbaly cut the price of some of the components
-
-
The change is the are NOW charging you $75 for the T7500 Which was included before. What a load of Crap. Watching the DELL Deals Just Pi$$ me off. You never know when to buy. They said the last deal was good to Jan31, and change it on Jan8th. Other components are the same. There just milking you for another $75!
-
yeah, I noticed that, too. Lucky me, when I canceled and reordered this morning they kept my original discount when adding on the 12% EPP discount.
-
Their deals change all the time, if you don't like it give them a call and tell them about it. Ask them to do something.
-
Wow, i think they just lost me as a buyer, thats $150 (drop in instant savings and increase in additional processor cost)...the deal said ...good until 1/31/2008...apparently not.
Maybe they're trying to get some money back for all the defective returns. -
Yeah, go find a better deal elsewhere. Dell's not for you.
-
I just hope that all of us waiting until the end of the month in hopes of getting an LED or Penryn won't find DYCWHN3 to be something like $50 off at that time... -
Yup... my cart has been automatically changed.
Hmm... I'm feeling more pressure to order sooner... instead of waiting for Dell to work out their production problems and/or offer the LED.
<wishfulthinking>
Though.. it doesn't seem likely that they'd change the price again or expire the current deal too soon... since it must take some effort to make that decision and implement it. I would think they'd give it a week at least.
Maybe some coupon is about to be released that can be stacked or something.
</wishfulthinking> -
holy crap. glad i ordered mine last night. I just configured the same computer as i ordered yesterday and its $200 more
-
-
Just called dell. They Offered me free next day shipping $69.
-
-
It seems like to me that Jan-Feb is usually a really dry time for discounts from Dell. Though I'm pretty happy with my deal, it's not the 30-40% off that comes around periodically.
-
Man im happy i ordered when i ordered
-
Yeah I am glad I ordered on the 4th... I guess they finally figured out it was just too good a deal...
-
I still have my quote from the Dell Rep. Im wondering if people can use my quote in order to get their configured with the same price for the next few days. -
What $75 coupon?
EDIT: Wait... I think I got it. The dollars-off in the deal (aka "the coupon") is $75 worse ... AND they configure it with a less processor. To get to the original processor will cost you $75.Last edited by a moderator: Jan 29, 2015 -
I find with dell they will do crazy sales then raise the prise above that until it sells out. I doubt there will be many other spectacular deals for a while. You can always hold out for the fiscal year end but I wouldn't I would buy now. i did for my 1330.
-
Whatever.... it's confusing. -
Actually, there is a new 10% stacking coupon. The coupon stacks with the MPP.

YEs, but only for the 1330 (at least for me):
10% off Dell XPS M1330 and Dell Inspiron notebooks priced $899 and above.
10% off Dell XPS One, Dell XPS 420, and Dell Inspiron desktops priced $699 and above. -

tried it (10% stacking coupon)with best option $594off an M1530 no go
-
I was sad to see the coupon change as well. I was just about to buy it today when I saw it changed. I called Dell and they basically said "too bad".
Really disappointed to learn that the "offer good until 1/31/08" really isn't.
I wonder if I should just buy it anyway and accept the $75 increase... $75 isn't that much...
Do you think price will continue to go up? I hardly ever see deals for XPS systems.
Is it better to wait? -
I don't think the price will continue to go up. I consider $75 a minor change. I wouldn't let that stop me. If you never knew about it, you probably wouldn't be thinking twice about the price.
-
its actually a $150 increase because they no longer include the T7500 as the base processor. It not comes with the T7250 and cost 75$ to upgrade to the T7500
-
Heres the thing guys. Buy a dell laptop when you NEED the laptop. If you can wait a month wait that month. You have a return period that you can return the laptop and order again if you find a better deal (or sometimes they will just refund the difference). No need to freak out that their prices changed, all you have to do is call them up and explain the situation.
-
True, $594 is still a huge discount.
I always look for XPS and they are always out of my price range so this deal sounds pretty good.
Maybe I should get a Vostro 1500 instead... -
The additional %10 off is for the 1330 only. Too bad, this would make up for the $75 raise.
Apparently they trying to sell out the slower processors. Any new one coming?
Also it looks like the 1330 comes with a 160G 7200RPM HDD now instead of the 250G 5400RPM one. -
i am glad i ordered early.
-
Something's missing, guys, because the *base price* of the laptop has *dropped* too. Yesterday, this 1530 deal had a base price over $2,000, and I want to say it was $2,068 with the 7500 CPU in the base configuration. Now, the 7250 is the base configuration, and the price is $75 lower, and the discount is $75 lower. Putting the 7500 back in just adds the $75 back, and puts me right back where I was when I configured this system the other day.
In fact, that put my configuration at $1,599, which is the same as that in my cart from two days ago....
-David -
My config is $75 more.
-
I think the base price is lower, but the overall configured price is definitely higher. I can't tell what exactly, but it did go up.
I configured one the other day for around $1800 and today it's around $1900. -
this is BS. I purchased two desktops in november. then i applied for the dell prefered account and got rejected (small credit history).
the only reason i applied for the DPA was to get this deal before they did something like this. asdkl;dkasdklj; not hapy. -
** before my quote:
Starting Price $2,353
Instant Savings $669
----------------------
Subtotal $1,684
** now my quote
Starting Price $2,353
Instant Savings $594
----------------------
Subtotal $1,759
Anyone copy and paste the discount details back when it was $669? ...it has the same date but says $594 now, i wonder if its the same order code.

Isn't that a $150 net increase for the same system? You get $75 less discount, and a $75 less valuable processor. In your "now" quote, did you upgrade to the 2.2 to match the earlier system?
-
I am ready January 18th to make a large purchase with the m1530. How long is a dell quote good for? does it depend on the products situation or something?
what if i got the quote tomorrow?
maybe the led screens are close to release. -
At least from the experience I have had, quotes don't lock the price. For example if there's a discount today and you save a quote then the discount goes away tomorrow, if you purchase tomorrow you won't get the discount.
That prevented me from purchasing a Dell a little while back. -
As long as it was saved/emailed under the original deal, I would think you can give them a call and they would still honor it. Especially when it did say valid till 1/31/08. I received $100 credit on top of the $669 + %12 EPP discout, because I was promised Free next day shipping by a sales rep and never received it.
-
im kinda new at this but typically, where i work, i get a quote faxed to me. and usually they'd say how long the quote was good for. so i'd call up and give them the quote number and they'd honor that.
now that im worried, i think i might check into that tomorrow. -
haha i am so lucky cause i ordered this morning at 1 am =D and i got the 669$ off
-
my quote from the computer i ordered yesterday still exists on the dell website and actually lets me put it in my cart to checkout.
-
I got a quote with the $669 off last night. I called back today and they gave me the quoted price. Thank goodness, I almost missed out cause I was too busy trying to get a "better deal".
-
Runs hot, bad battery performance, loud slot loading optical drive. I missed the earlier deal and after reading that I was glad that I did.
-
if u don't have one then u shouldn't be talking -_- since the so called loud slot loading is not loud at all its much better than the m1330, and most slim laptop runs a little warm =p
-
$669 deal now $594 deal?
