    1) Obviously going to be overpriced when bought from an OEM like Dell
    2) 1.8" PATA, keep that in mind when shopping.

    i have to agree.....wow.
    you can get mini-pci-e ssd's from newegg from less then half that. 100-160 i think.

    That's beyond overpriced. That's 6x as much as from Newegg. That's 2 Dell Mini 9s... lol

    Yeah. I found the one I was looking for. 16gb $45. Paypal issues so I can't order now though :(

    dell is run by marketing ppl=same ppl who runs macys womens clothing department, which means prices of their products are nowhere near their true value.

    I remember when I got my M1210, the upgrade to 4GB of RAM was $2000 lol. Now you can buy that much RAM for $30.

    It's a business strategy. Just like how Best Buy sees that consumers are likely to come into their store to buy new headphones if they break their old ones, so they take the standard iPod headphones ($30 @ Apple) and mark them up to $40. Other iPod accessories stay at MSRP though...

    I was looking at buying a 64gb SSD for $130 for my Acer Aspire.

    Dells is ... much more expensive.
