I just bought a dell e1505 for 519, great buy, but it was a scratch and dent. Would that mean there is a scratch on the monitor?

    What's up,
From what I've read on these forums they are usually hair-line scratches on the lid or very small imperfections on the chassis. I've never heard of anything so unacceptable that a scratch and dent had to be returned.
I don't think anyone ever mentioned this, but I'm sure Dell representatives have some record of what the imperfection is on the laptop so it might be advisable to call and ask for details about the product number you had in mind. That way you won't be wondering what kind of scratch or dent your new laptop is going to come with!

Not bad at all. I'll have to look into a scratch and dent for the GF, less than $600 would be perfect for that kind of performance.

There is a column for "Video Card" just scroll further to the right, it will list 128 vs 256...and if its blank then i would bet its intergrated, just sort by decending price and there will usually be a couple high end laptops with 128 or 256 graphics card to give you an idea.

I love mine, spent way less for a lot more features than I was originally planning, blank is intl 950, 128 is an ati x1300, 256 is ati x1400, for 519, you have intel, I got the x1300, 1gig ram, 60 gig 7200rpm hd, ultrasharp screen,8x dvd burner and 9 cell battery for 819, took me about 30 minutes to find a light scratch on the top case, and I wouldnt have found it if I wasnt looking very hard for it

yes but what happened with the discounts? ( usually price shown in Red Colour)
Since e1405 came out there're no discounts.
can we expect the prices cut down as used to be?

AFAICT dell outlet doesn't have the same discount structure- what you see is what you get. I got a 6400 from them and I'm very happy with it. It was ~850 due to the Radeon X1400.

If you don't want discrete graphics consider the XPS M140 they are really cheap now on the outlet.

I ordered this past Saturday night, they shipped it Sunday (!) and I got it Tuesday! This was with free 3-5 day shipping. (I live in Austin though btw).

Outlet machines seem to just come with the AC adapter, warranty booklet, and any applications on the spec list (I got Corel and MS XP Home). So if you're expecting a great out of box experience buy an Apple : )

i dont think m140 is cheap. I used to see many discounted units just right before e1405 came. There used to be many units m140 , for 650$ , 60GB and 1GB ram. and there were many deals like this.
Now these are too expensive especially for Pentium M. Have you looked at 700m? These units who are scratched stay there for more than 14 days and it seems nobody wants them.
