How do you "reserve" when there are only 100 available?

I must be missing something. This is just a link to the site (which I belong to) - I don't see anywhere that you can "reserve," pre-order, or a way to insure that you will get one of the 100 before the assigned date, even after I log on. Can you tell me where on the page, or anywhere, is a "reserve" tab or..., after you log in? Many thanks!

 

This is probably a stupid question, but how do you get an account on this site? I am an amex blue cardholder, but I don't see how to register for this tailormade site.

 

You don't technically "reserve". A mad rush will ensue when the Dell link goes live on that website at 12pm next Friday, and I'm guessing the link will go dead or be removed once the allotment of 100 click-throughs is met. Good luck getting in on this one, folks.

 

Yes - you are right, jms7crm. No reserves - their website says reserve but it is a poor use of the word. Standing in line is not reserving!

Xps M1330!

 

Using Tailormade and my EPP discount, I got such a good deal on this XPS M1330, with better specs, that I'm thinking now that I can wait for it to arrive probably in September/October or god knows when and probably just try to sell the other one I ordered from this forum at EPP cost (when and if I ever get it). I ordered my first XPS on 6/29, so <hypothetically> it should be in the first large batch of arrivals. Currently scheduled to ship next day on the first of August, so we'll see what actually happens. If anyone is interested in purchasing it when I receive it, let me know. The specs are black lid w/ led and vga, 2 gigs of RAM, 2.2 ghz processor, 160 gig 7200 rpm hard drive, nvidia card, fingerprint reader, 3 year complete care (accident plus in home warranty service), next gen intel wireless card, etc. $2300 + whatever it will cost for the buyers preferred method of shipping.

 

i should really get an amex card..iv got everything BUT amex..and thats how i missed out on this =/

Thanks for the helpful insight, and I really appreciate the implications of the last line as well. Spec the system out through most of the EPP sites and you'll see that it's about as discounted of a price as you can get right now, excluding the Drake/UFL/etc. deal that is no longer available, Tailormade, etc. Obviously, I'll cancel if necessary, but if someone needs to get the system sooner rather than later for school or otherwise, maybe they'll want it.

 

There is no discount on the price you quoted. I might scare you at the price I paid for my xps m1330 and xps m1210. Like I said maybe some sucker might go for it.

 

Rumor has it there is a stackable $200 off coupon that will work with this

 

yes I know... eheheheheheheh LOL. The stackable will only work with inspirons and not xps systems though.

 

Just priced my exact system out on the regular Dell Home website, came to $2452 before taxes. The EPP price I quoted earlier is obviously much lower than that and the most readily available "discounted" price (term of art when it comes to Dell) available at this point.... notwithstanding the stellar "peter740 untold mystery discount" the lion's share of the people viewing these forums don't have access to and which you've been gracious enough to remind us about.
