call me dense but i dont understand the significance of these coupons. everytime i try to price out an inspiron 1420, i get $307 in instant savings. this never lets me stack with a $300 coupon. it does one or the other. what am i doing wrong? or how is everyone using these coupons?

Use them with the base configuration & then upgrade from there. I guarantee you'll realize this results in the cheapest price overall. If you choose the configuration with the $307 instant savings, you're stuck w/ some upgrades you probably don't want, but end up paying for. In the end, you pay more this way. I saved almost $200 this way.
