    is there any way to control the leds on the side? i sleep with my laptop in my room and those lights blinking gets to me, but i don't want to shut it all the way down...i know there was something to control all the lights on the older xps's but haven't heard of anything for the new ones

    Apart from unplugging them, i don't think anyone knows..

    You can hibernate the computer to get rid of the lights at night

    Correct, you will need to unplug them, which involves removing a ton of screws, taking off the palmrest/keyboard, and unplugging them. It is not very complicated, the plugs are white, about 1cm in width, and are plastic. There is one on each side towards the upper left/right corners.

    Truthfully, I actually wish that they were more informative. Like, change colors when the laptop battery is charging. Either that, or make the ring on the AC adapter connector do that. I think it's a little silly to have that blue ring on all the time and not be useful in any way, unlike Apple's MagSafe connector.
