    xps 1530 hanging problem

    hi there

    my laptop has 4 gig of ram which in 32bit vista it just uses 3 gig.....

    now the problem is that also the half of ram is empty but the physical memory is full....

    and this slows the laptop very much......

    what is the problem......this just happend recently.....i renewed windows but it steel happens.........

    Windows vista pre-caches the RAM memory with programs that you run most times, so loading times of these seem reduced.

    If you see, you have:
    3581 total RAM
    53 of non-cached, free ram
    2152 cached RAM <- with those program files.

    cached RAM does not mean it's used or non-free ram, because if you start an application that has not it's files precached in the RAM, windows vista will make room for it don't worry.
