i got my XPS1530 yesterday and immediately noticed backlight bleed when using the AC adaptor (full brightness). What do you think, should i replace?

This is the WXGA+ (1440x900) non-led screen, panel is: AU Optronics AUO2077.

it's annoying me when watching films...

Yes you could go for a completely new replacement or ask for a screen replacement alone too...

And you are anyways within the 21 day period.. so make full use of this and decide..

Are there any other issues with the screen besides that? Unless the image itself was adversely effected by the backlight bleed, I probably wouldn't go through the trouble.

Of course, if it is already bothering you now, its going to bother you forever. So get rid of it if that is the case.

Get a replacement, but don't be mad if it's the same issue. Dell will first try to replace your screen with the exact same part number, if it's not in stock than you will receive a different part number pending it is in stock. If you are not satisfied, I would just upgrade to the LED screen.

    Cheers for the help peeps!

I gave Dell a call not long ago. I certainly got through to a call centre from abroad, and the women was unhelpful and difficult to understand. In the end she decided the screen was fine...

As you can imagine, i wasn't happy, so spoke to the manager, and he was very helpful and said they would do whatever i wanted to resolve the situation, so someone is coming on Thurs to replace the screen, and a note has been attached suggesting if possible, to use an LG panel.

Will let you know what happens thurday and what screen i end up getting.

off topic, but does anyone undervolt there XPS, is it possible using software?
