hello, right now i have a 1330 for myself and also a 1530 which is a gift for a friend. i reformatted both computers but one thing i noticed is that i much prefer the 1330 touchpad, and i presume it's probably the drivers.

the 1330 has a finger "flick" function to scroll to the top or bottom of the screen slowly and also another flick function to scroll instantly to the top or bottom, not to mention for whatever reason the touchpad just seems exactly right. if u look in the touchpad settings menu the adjustment levels are *almost* exactly the same...the 1530 has 1 extra bar of speed adjustment.

i realize that the touchpad is bigger on the 1530. the 1530 uses an Alps drver from 8/2007 while the 1330 uses a synaptics from 4/2007. i guess i don't want to update the driver on the 1330 for fear of i won't like the upgrade, but there is a newer version that is available that is still different from the 1530...i have the most current version of the 1530 driver.

sorry for the long post, but does anyone know why the drivers are different? it does make the touchpad experience worse on the 1530, while the 1330 is perfect and has the best feel of any laptop i've ever used

Its beacause the 1530 uses an Alps touchpad while the 1330 uses an Sympatics touchpad, hence different brands = incompatable drivers :)
