if anyone is experienced with this, i'd greatly appreciate the feedback.

my m1730 came with a toshiba/samsung dvd burner (IDE) and i want to switch it out for a blu-ray burner. there are very few slim blu-ray burners out there, and i can get dell's swap out from ebay fairly cheap. but the problem is it's a panasonic, and the brand is known to give me problems with a specific dvd burning software i use.

i'd like to know if anyone has used another brand, such as sony or lenovo in their m1730, working ? able to transfer over the bezel easy ?

    thanks again

i use anydvd for reading my discs and clonecd to backup/convert to image.

it's been said that those drives have poor quality and errors with region coding, etc.
