    wait time on XPS m1530 from dell

    How long of a wait is there if you order a custom XPS m1530 from dell? i was reading that if you get the 9 cell it can take longer?

    Ordered mine June 22 with July 7 delivery date. Extended to July 16 when I received it. I believe it was the 9 volt battery issue.

    Same i ordered mine July 13th and it said that it was going to ship july 28th.

    If i get 1 delay i will cancel my order.
    F them.

    Im not going to wait that long for a damn laptop that's waiting somewhere.

    I ordered 7/4 with a 9-cell. I got the notice it will be here Wednesday so 7/23. Little less then 3 weeks with the 9 cell delay. Not bad and dell threw in a $70 card b/c of the delay after i bothered them (i did not use their version of the deal that had the $70) so I can't complain haha.

    when that happens i just ask for a supervisor and that's basically all I'll say. Or just bring up the Better Business Bureau and usually Dell is extremely friendly afterwards haha

    well you can still complain if you really feel the ship time was too long and talk to someone online about it and they are generally pretty receptive/helpful with answering stuff.

    i ordered mine 11 days ago with a 9 cell battery, today it showed up as shipped ( yippie!!)

    so should be no more than 14 or 15 days from the day you clicked that "confirm order" Button, until it shows up at your door ;)

    That's Bull Crap!!!!

    I ordered mine 7/12 and the ESD is 7/28

    I called today and said why is it taking so long they said because of a battery shortage of 6 and 9 cell batteries. Then i asked for a compensation and they were like no we can't.

    6 days until mine should ship.

    ****ers better pray they ship it on time or i will cancel my order.

    On the DELL UK site it says you can't cancel once your order has been placed lol.

    I think their delivery times are rediculous. I know they make out that they build all systems to order, but I bet they have them pretty much put together and just need customising.

    Plus batteries in the DELL UK online shop are in plentiful supply and ship in 2 - 3 days. Why not dedicate these batteries to customers who are ordering a whole new system from them...that would make sense.

    I bet they have lost quite a bit of business from poor delivery times.

    If you order on a Monday they should reasonably be able to get it to you by the next mon/tues, not the NEXT week after that.

    their dates are pretty conservative. I waited 3 weeks (usa had a 9 cell delay also) - and they upgraded my shipping to overnight. *plus the $70 stuff i mentioned earlier in the topic

    My order has the led screen and the 9 cell battery. Originally ordered 7-11 and shipped 8-11 but then I canceled today and reordered with a ship date of 8-22.

    I can't wait for mine. I ordered on the 22nd and it went to Phase 2: Pre-Production on the 23rd lol.

    Does it usually stay at this point for long? Once it gets through to phase 3: assembly does that mean it should only take a few more days until it ships.

    Its wierd that my friend ordered an inspiron a month ago with a few customisations to the spec and it arrived in about 5 working days (7 days total)

    I ordered mine on July 14th late at night.

    It has been in the "IN PRODUCTION" Phase since July 15th.
    EST ship date is July 31st, but it seems weird to me that it has been "in production" for over a week.

    Okay guys, i know what's popin'

    I emailed them and they told me that "the 6 cell battery is backordered on your order"

    They gave me free overnight shipping.

    Which means it ships the 28th and arrives the 29th.

    So at least i'm happy.

    Also they don't do free upgrades and stuff like that because it's against there Terms of services and end user policies.

    I asked for upgrades and i got the whole story.
    I really didnt give a **** about.

    But yeah
