I ordered an xps15 at christmas time... i made it very powerful with an i7 processor and 8gb ram. unfortunately, i saw that the graphics card had 2gb of dedicated memory and assumed it was high end. I didn't realize that the nvidia geforce 435m hardly meets half the specs of a graphics card required to play many games well. I would like to upgrade it to something high end but i have no idea what graphics cards are compatible in my laptop or if it is even possible to upgrade them. if anyone has any information or advice on what graphics cards would be compatible it would be a great help!

P.S. even if upgrading the graphics card means changing the motherboard (assuming thats possible) i would appreciate information on that too. Thanks!

notebook, You can't updgrade Display card. next time better buy good display card. dell except alienware, all notebook is a mid range display card. better choice other branch, such asus, standard model notebook display card faster then dell.

You could upgrade it but you'll need to replace the motherboard.

for the L501X, the 435m is the best card.

the XPS laptops are no longer considered to be "gaming" laptops. They're more higher-end multimedia systems. If you want gaming, look for Alienware, or Asus G-series
