hi, few weeks ago i recived my dell xps1530, i use with xp sp3
i have a problem, the fans works very loud every time, i dont know why, the temperature its so so inestable, if i use only the firefox, the msn and winamp, the fans start to work to load, and the temperature is never stable, for example, the notebook works 5 minutes without the fan noises, and then 5 minutes with fan noises, then 5 minutes without noises and then start again, does it happen with your notebook? i think my notebook its broken or something, i need the coments of the users please

Try downloading HWMonitor to monitor your temps.. check what is your temp when the fan starts spinning and when it stop.. Oh, open task manager as well while you're doing this and check what process is eating up your cpu... have you applied the latest bios and gpu drivers?

    hey elverde, i would recommend:

1- change your video driver for another version, ( i have the 180.84 version and it works really well, you can get it from laptopvideo2go.com)

2- see your temps, clean your fan with compressed air. if your temps are really high ( higher than 85C when stressing, then call dell and say you are having an overheating problem , if they are lower than that its a fan problem, you can either tell dell or do the next steps)

3- it could be an xp problem, i know its a pain in the back, but change to vista, it might be it.

4- if that doesn't work, call dell, now with vista they will agree to check it and repair or replace the faulty parts.

i hope this is of any help.

    best regards dear friend!
