I ran a Dell PC Checkup on my newly arrived XPS 1530, and the result showed:

    Motherboard RTC Accuracy test:
    Failed: szRTCAccuracyTestFailed

    What does this mean?

I live in Argentina, so returning the laptop and waiting for a new one would mean over a month waiting.. what should I do?

    Thanks.

guess? : real time clock , maybe your clock is running fast or slow.

Or it could be the battery voltage?

Do your own test, the test might be wrong.

    Regards

    John.

How do I do my own test?

I can check the clock, which so far doesn't do anything strage... what about battery voltage?

Can you recommend any other diagnostic/general check-up tool?

    thanks

    *bump*

    An update on the issue.

A Dell technician told me via chat, that XPS's are not compatible with RTC technology and Dell PC Checkup is standard for all Dell laptops and PC's, so it check for RTC accuracy anyway.

That's why the RTC fail comes up, and I shouldn't bother about it, since it does not mean it's malfunctioning.
