    Hi all<
I have a studio xps13 which has had the screen and motherboard replaced under warranty.
I am not convinced that the new screen is a wled ( which is what i had originally)
the battery life seems to have shortened ( a sign I have been told)
but i wonder is there a way to tell what screen I have.
I know the webcam is lower res but cant see a way of testing that either.

any simple way to confirm what screen i have

    thanks in advance

    Andy

You can check in device manager, and see what type of display it detects. Go under monitors, you may see Generic PnP Monitor. Right click hit properties. See what type of information you can gather from the drop down box. Definitely check Hardware Ids. Post the number under Hardware Ids, or search it on Google and see what comes up.

That's the LED model. Is your screen quality poorer than the previous screen? I've read posts of people who have had a few issues with some LED screens including the LG and Samsung.

It does not seem as bright to me or as sharp.

Just had a chap on from dell.
he said that the cannot fit different screens ( even different led screens) to the laptop as the formfactors are idifferent!

sounds like BS to me cant beleive that they would design a differen "lid" for differnt led screens

They don't design different lids, but if you want to change the screen you have to change the whole lid. It's too complicated to change just the screen.
I don't know about SXPS 13 led screen quality (mine is very good) but I have seen a number of XPS 1330 screens and some were better than others (all of them led). I saw one in particular with very pronounced grainyness
