    stop vista asking permission

    for lots of programs, it keeps asking that it wants permission, and its REALLY annoying, how can i stop it?

    type msconfig into searchbar and press return or enter

    then click on tools and go to the bottom

    look for disable UAC

    I prefer to keep it enabled, you get use to it after a few weeks.

    But yeah, I would suggest leaving it on and you'll get used to it.. as annoying as it is, I find (after all these days) that one bit of pop-up does kinda 'wake you up' sometimes when u r working on ur lappy for a long time and thereby confirming you wanna do something on ur laptop... As the saying goes, 'prevention is better than cure', I would suggest we prevent ourself doing something unwanted rather than doing it and breaking our head trying to find a solution or go-back option! Cheers. :)

    It only happens on programs not vista compliant!, now that cannot be many! :rolleyes:

    It really is bad programming that causes UAC prompts, but just turn it off.

    sorry but what does UAC do is it a virus scan or somthing like that??

    It is just a level of security to make sure you know what you are running. It tries to stop processes from being ran that will damage your computer.

    stops you running "unsafe" programs i think, but it prompts you on loads on programs and i cant stand it.

    i turned uac and i like it off, so much less annoying
