sound while pressing bottom panel - XPS 15 9550

Hi, I have xps 15 9550 and im quite enjoying it
i have i5 6300hq with 1tb hdd version and i got intel 600p ssd on newegg recently and i opened it up to install it

after i installed the ssd and put it back together, i noticed that whenever i press the part between XPS flap and the hinge, it makes a noise, like adhesive is coming off, it should be on top of memory area and heatpipes

i cant really tell why its happening after putting it back together..

I have exactly the same thing. I traced it down to either the heat pad on top of the M.2 SSD or the heat-pipe itself.
I put a small non-metal washer for the two screws under the flap to raise the bottom cover slight up from the logic board and the noise went away.

 

I don't have that noise.

One possibility is that the bottom cover is not aligned correctly or that the delicate plastic tabs that help hold it on are broken, getting in the way, or not aligned correctly.

Also when installing the cover, did you install all the screws just a few turns then go around and tighten them say at oppositte corners (like you might with the lugs on an auto tyre.

Also the RAM clips are flimsy. Check two clips are properly hooked to each card in the proper cutout

Another(remote) possibility is the heatsink screws or other motherboard screws are loose. Could your VRAM pads be missing or CPU/GPU be missing thermal paste...

 

Why are you pushing it like that anyway and what happens when the flaps open at the time?
Me being me I would open it up and try to figure it out.

 

Well, when i was holding it in a way so that i can put it in my bag, i found that that area can be recessed a bit, and i pressed it and it made that sound

 

not pressing that hard though, maybe 2-3 kg of force?

 

I think you should check the RAM is seated properly ASAP. If you damage those delicate traces-pins you could be in a world of pain...

 

Looks like flexing in the bottom cover. Maybe a small strip of foamy double-sided tape attached to the bottom cover in the area where the clicking sound occurs will act like a cushion and bridge the gap making the noise. You'll obviously want to leave one side of the adhesive covered tape covered.

ddr4 is seated securely, can't find anything wrong and cant find source of sound with it with visual inspection,
i just dont know what part/component is making the noise..

all the screws are tightened securely (i hate torx screws now)
