For some reason every now and then my sound will randomly stop working whether its on speakers or headphones. The sound icon still shows the green pulsating bar as if the sound is still playing..my itunes is running but absolutely no sound. the only way to bring it back is to adjust the volume and then it pops back in but disappears again after 20 seconds or so. It will also reappear if i open up firfox (but then goes away again).

My only guess is that somehow my sound device is being put in power saving mode even though it is actually being used. Does anyone have a solution for this?
