After putting in a CD into the slot drive to load, the thing goes insane. It starts making this funky noise, and my whole laptop starts vibrating from the drive. It's not like my laptop is getting flung about the desk (lol  ), but if I put my hand on any part of the laptop, it's clearly jittering about. There is nothing wrong with anything - and performance is excellent -I'm only curious as to what could be causing this?

To better define it, the slot drive whirrs up like normal, but then it goes "beyond" whirring, and it starts to shake the laptop. After the drive is done reading the information it needs, everything goes back to normal.

    Help is appreciated, Thanks!

I am assuming you have tried more than one disk.

A slight vibration is normal with slot loading drives.. But you can check to see if one of the mounting screws has come loose..

But how is it defective? I'm OK with the noise as long as it works well, and the drive is still operating very well.
