    piece of grey wire visible through back of XPS 1530 air vent

    I've just noticed on the back of my XPS 1530: on the air vent to the left of the back of the machine, there is a piece of silver-grey wire visible through - and slightly caught in - the gap between the top of the vent and where the plastic meets the top of the laptop base. It looks like that side of the laptop isn't quite fitted flush, either: the bottom of the lid rubs slightly on the left of the base, but not the right, when I close the laptop.

    Just a quick check before I call Dell: I take it this isn't normal on a 1530? I know there have been some issues with build quality on the XPS, but this does not look good...
