We'll probably hear something next month about the 1330's successor. Maybe the 1530's successor as well since the competition will be switching over to Centrino 2 in the next couple of months.

I'll go back and forth, and likely go with my gut which is that the M1330 will be a great purchase for me. And then ... the day after I buy the M1330 its thinner, lighter, sexier, more powerful successor will be released. I'm preparing myself, because that's always how it goes!

There is a leak of the next XPS notebook having black carbon fiber at the palmrests and the screen has a glass panel at the front of it. I will have to find the picture or if anyone can find the link to it.

It does look nice.... though I prefer the M1530 more.

Nah, its like brushed aluminum, it is slightly more expensive yet, but remember.

XPS is now officially a "Premium" line. Why not use high quality materials?

Still in the process of looking for it, will put it up once I find it. Though seriously, yes it does look premium and the glass panel is VERY sleek, it doesnt feel the same as the M1530.

Well new studio line is out. Some mistook it to be the model which would replace either Inspiron 1525 or XPS 1530. But it was launched as a new series. So XPS is staying for a little bit more, because this model really helped Dell grab the share of market in 15.4" segment.

XPS is too good to be discarded right now. But you can never tell..

I would have definitely waited for the new Latitudes if it had a HDMI port. I thought the exclusion of an HDMI port was a poor mistake. The laptop looked so sleek and I really like the Latitude durability. I have a Latitude X300 that I will swear by but I must give it away to my sister. That thing was built tough and was extremely thin, and with the extended battery I got 7 hours. Amazing laptop from Dell.

    LOL me too!

I don't expect any new 1540's or whatever til the end of the year. Maybe things like newer cpu's - gpu's and they've already done the newer cpu's.

I think a replacement will be coming out this summer, Oct/Nov would be too late. It probably will be similar to the 1530.

I hope our new laptops aren't going to be outdated too soon. I'm loving being cutting edge for once. This is the best computer I have ever owned.

The T7500 has already been surpassed by the T8000 and T9000 series processors and the 8600 by the 9500, the LCD screen by LED screens, the hard drive by ssd's, and the DDR2 ram by DDR3 ram.

It hasn't been a year since the 1530's came out. Why are people expecting a refresh so soon? I'm assuming the current xps's won't be replaced until next year.
