    new m1530 palm rest and mobo

    anyone familiar with taking apart a m1530? cause i got a new motherboard with a 8600gt and a new palmrest and i dont wanna open my laptop without having some knowledge about it...

    Yeah check out the service manual!

    Did you want to replace the palmrest and motherboard in your system?

    Those 2 thing are possibly the hardest things to do IMO lol.

    Was there no chance of Dell doing it under warranty?

    actually I bought salvaged parts the mobo with the 8600gt was dead...after i installed everything it wouldnt charge so i had to switch back to my old mobo with 8400gs(which is fine). im mostly happy now because i have a t8300 now 1400x900 lg screen and a new palm rest.

    btw i ddint get to look at the manual and it took me around2 hours to get around everything LOL!!

    palmrest isnt that hard to remove

    two back covers, screws for media-keys, remove media keys + keyboard, unhook the wires for WLAN card and thread them up, then remove display assembly, screws for palm rest... and there you go :p

    motherboard is just a few more steps than the palm rest

    Yeah, the worst thing is getting the wires back though. Of course if you have done this kind of thing before it is fine!

    everything is well and fine :D ... im loving this t8300 so much faster than my old t5450
