Hello, ive been around here for a long time now and ive read a lot of threads about the issues on the m1530 (tingling, noises, heating, screens quality, etc etc) everytime i saw a thread, i checked my laptop, only things i found was the tingling, which havent noticed lately, and that i had the samsung screen, which i actually find comfortable to look at (ive seen the LG screen, and i think my samsung looks better :D )...the thing is that it never failed me before, everything worked very good, that said, ill go to the point.

1.-Lately, when i start windows, everything is normal, starts quick etc

2.-Suddenly, when welcome center pops, if i try to "click" on it, it locks my mouse, i cant click ( i can move it but cant click) anything on my desktop, its exactly like when you have a window selected and then u click on desktop, it "greys out, gets unselected so to speak" even if i click on the cross to close it, or click to drag the window, its like i i was clicking on the desktop, then it locks and i cant click anything else.

3.- The only thing that "fix" it, is ctrl+alt+del, then hitting escape, and it comes back to normal.

4.-This happens with mousepad and usb mouse, in the mousepad icon (the one thats next to the clock) it detects that im clicking, but i dont get response, until i ctrl+alt+del, then escape.

5.-Ive tried malware programs (have McAfee, tried spybot S&D, Ad-Aware, Kaspersky online scan, kaspersky detected 2 virus, both were completely removed, ive scaned thrice now with every program ive mencioned before and it tells me my laptop is clean)

6.-This might be related, when playing WoW, now ive suddenly noticed stuttering, like messed up FPS, it starts normal, and sometimes my FPS just get messed up, and i have to restart WoW and it seems to fix the problem. Also the "clicking lockup" happens in game too!, sometimes i cant click in game icons, until i do the ctrl+alt+del thing. (have the dell driver 175.97, temps are 55-63 idle, 72-77 playing)

    -Any suggestions?experiences? advises?-

    Ty.

I remember somewhere that people had stuttering in some games and they were running 175.97 drivers, but when they went to 174.31 it worked better. I don't know for sure though, I haven't tested it or anything and have only stuck with 174.31.

Also, you can try updating your pointing device drivers (both the trackpad and the usb mouse you're using).

Im narrowing the issue to my wireless logitech mouse (mx620), ive found that if i start my laptop without my wireless mouse plugged in, everything works fine, but as soon as i plug the usb receiver it "locks", then i have to do ctrl+alt+delete, in order for it to start working gain, my 4th mouse button its broken (jammed), so maybe thats what its locking the taskbar?

the mouse could be the problem for yur "locks." try to plug in another usb mouse and see if the problem still exists.

as for the gaming issue, i would check out a few of the other drivers and see if it solves yur problem.

give this thread a look-see and try out some of the more popular (reliable) drivers that others are usin.

I see that the mouse is cordless and uses a USB port (Logitech page). Does it have a USB micro-receiver? If so, make sure that the reciever is plugged on the same side that you use the mouse. Those micro-receivers are either always short on range or easily interfered.

Yeah, ive tried a lot of things in this laptop, from 169.xx (for overclocking to play crysis), to 174.xx and 175.xx (kept the 175.97 cuz for me it worked pretty well, i havent had BSOD, steady framerates, no heat issues) the strange thing is that, ive kept the same configuration for months (with the driver i currently have, which is now on the m1530 drivers download from dell) and all of a sudden i started having those issues, i mean...if it was the driver i should had experienced issues from start am i right? gonna try another one thou see how it goes.

-Also, is there any "how to" guide to identify if i have one of those "faulty" 8600mgt units?, like specific symptoms related to faulty chips? dont know, could it be decreasing performance? or the chip suddenly stops working plain and simple? thanks in advance.

I have a Logitech mouse with the Nano reciever and I use it with my Inspiron which only has USB ports on the left side and I use my mouse on the right side and I have never had any issues whatsoever with connectivity. Sometimes I will even lean back from my desk and use my mouse on my leg and still no issues.
