    m1330 hdd upgrade question

    i want to change the actual hdd (hitachi 120 gb 5400rpm) for a new hdd (samsung hm320JI 320 gb 5400rpm)


    what will happend to that 47 mb dell diagnostic partition?? will it disappear? do i need to clone the hdd??

    The new hard drive will have NOTHING on it. If you don't need the partition, you can just load Windows. IMO, it's kinda useless since those tools are not very accurate for the most part and there are plenty of free alternatives. If you do want to keep it, or your other install of Windows for that matter, yes, you will need the clone the hard drive.

    actually i don't mind, but the last dell tech guy went to house to replace the motherboard, he did some test using those utilities...

    what happen if the next guy want to use them and he can't find them lol... will it void the warranty?
