    m1330 cannot watch dvds nor can I burn my dvd movies.

    I have a very new m1330. I also own slysoft any dvd and clone dvd. i was trying to pop in and watch a movie but I keep gettng no picture and just audio and some thing nothing at all. anydvd also is telling me something about rpc1 region locking or something. then my entire dvd drive letter vanishes...

    is this a failing dvd drive? anyone experience problems with the dvd drive in this lapto?

    Have you checked the DVD region settings???

    I seem to recall a certain drive not working well with other regions even with AnyDVD. Please post what model you have which can be found in your device manager.

    yep its the matsu drive. on the phone right now trying to get a replacement fromdell.. im being given the runaround obviously....

    Ah, that's crappy. Probably unless it is defective they are going to give up a fight to replace it. Just be persistent.

    LOL they told me because i installed vista x64 it voids my warranty ***! they also say the dvd problem is a software issue so they are not responsible.

    Good old tech support. I'd call back and just say it is 32 bit and it doesn't work properly. It's obviously not a Vista x64 issue, it's the drive's firmware. Are you talking with XPS support?

    yep xps support.. unbelieveable.. put me on hold to go talk to a manager.... installing vista x64 most certainly does not void any warranty.. this is ridiculous...

    So much for the XPS support being above the usually tech support drones at Dell. They should know that installing any OS doesn't void the warranty.

    thye pretty much told me that GSA-S10N is not available as a dispatch and that they can't help me.. why do i keep buying dell?
