Does anyone know if the m1330's come with NVIDIA ForceWare?

It seems to have some interesting features including (but not limited to)...

    NVIDIA® PowerMizer™ Technology
A dynamic power-management technology, PowerMizer allows you to adjust system performance and battery consumption to your specific needs. If it is consistently high frame rates in your favorite game or workstation application that is a must, or even the necessity of the longest possible battery life for an intercontinental flight, PowerMizer Mobile Technology fits your needs.
    3D Bullet (white background)

    NVIDIA® SmartDimmer™ Technology
Enables intelligent, granular display brightness control which extends battery life without losing picture display quality.

duh! :D ;) Well, actually, who knows, Dell techs have an option of disabling or tweaking some of features of the drivers when they are branded.... Although I seriously doubt they'd get rid of the above.

I guess we will find out. If they aren't enabled/etc... might be good news cause then maybe the battery life will last a bit longer than those tests. :)

You can always use drivers from other sources... They are always better than stock...

You don't want PowerMizer disabled, then.

Actually... now that I think about it... you guys realize that ForceWare isn't a driver... its a software... right? :)

I remember long long ago a driver set for ATI Radeon graphics cards that was supposed to overclock it and provide advanced options in getting the most out of the card. It was called the Omega drivers, and I think you can still find them somewhere. Is there an equivalent set of drivers out there for NVidia graphics cards?

I have reviewed the specs on the 1330 and don't feel that it is even worth the money, when you get more from a 1210, which has a faster processor, and higher graphic card, the only higher specs on the 1330 are memory and HD Capacity. Hell, I don't even know why Dell has included the 1330 in the XPS lineup.

They still exist, among other groups that make similar drivers

The ForceWare software allows you to do that. I have the ForceWare software for my desktop (custom built) ... but I'm not sure how the ForceWare app is for the laptop.

Check your spec sheet again. The 1330 has a faster Santa Rosa chipset and the 8400M GS which is about twice as powerful as the 7400 in the 1210.

EspiOne, you should review those specs again.. faster processor??? higher graphic card???

M1210 is an decent looking laptop with good performance which M1330 betters in every possible way. The 1210 is being discontinued btw...

It's thinner and sexier. I touched a few of my friends m1210 and it seemed REALLY bulky... bulkier than my 2 year old Gateway. I was really shocked. Besides the LED LCD (which saves power/weight/thickness), you are right... its almost the same (except for a slightly faster proc/graphics card).... but we're paying a premium for looks.

... and its much cheaper than paying for a Sony. :)

I guess, looks do come into account. I am a gamer and well, I need graphics. Faster CPU, yes, Higher GPU, NO!! (last time I checked, 256MB was higher then 128MB) I kicked myself in 2006 when I should waited on getting my Dell, got a 700m for the size, when I could have waited and got the m1210 for the same price.

well depending on what price point, the entry $900 M1210 do have a better processor(1.83 vs 1.5) and graphics(7400 vs x3100) than the entry $1300 M1330.

Everyone will have different uses for their laptops, so a m1330 won't necessarily be "the answer" for you (or any other person in your situation). You never know though, they might come out with a faster graphics card later (once demand eases). If you are looking for value, then you should go with the m1210!

yeah definitely depends on the person, for someone like me that don't even think the M1330 looks good/special the M1330 is a very very bad idea.
